Bulltaur Brute is today’s boosted creature, while Mitmah Vanguard is today’s boosted boss.
TIBIA — The roads leading away from the familiar hunting grounds have been growing busier.
Adventurers are once again making their way toward places where brute strength and ancient curses have something in common: neither is particularly interested in welcoming visitors.
In one corner of Tibia, the Bulltaurs are drawing hunters toward their lair.
Far away, beneath the ruins of Iksupan, something considerably older is waiting.
Where the Bulltaurs Keep Their Hammers
The Bulltaur Brutes are not subtle creatures.
Their reputation has been built around strength, heavy equipment and a willingness to put that strength to use. Their own battle cries leave little doubt about their intentions: “It’s hammer time!” is hardly the sort of warning one expects before a peaceful encounter.
Those looking to find them have a rather direct destination.
The Bulltaur Lair is their fixed hunting ground, making the area one of the places where today’s increased attention is likely to be felt most strongly.
For hunters working on their bestiary, there is another reason to visit. Completing the Bulltaur Brute entry requires 2,500 kills, eventually rewarding 50 Charm Points.
That is a considerable number of hammers to survive.
Beneath the Ruins of Iksupan
The second destination is considerably less welcoming.
Deep in the Iksupan Undercity, the Mitmah Vanguard waits in the same ancient environment connected to the Adventures of Galthen quest. Unlike an ordinary creature encountered on a hunting route, the Vanguard is an Archfoe and a fixed boss of the area.
There are few signs that the creature appreciates visitors.
Among its recorded threats is a devastating Energy attack. The warning may come first — “FEAR THE CURSE!” or “NOW TREMBLE!” — but those who hear it have very little reason to remain curious about what follows.
The attack can exceed 6,000 points of damage and may be accompanied by a sudden teleport across the room.
In other words, listening to the Vanguard may be considerably more useful than trying to understand it.
A City That Still Remembers
The Mitmah Vanguard is part of a much older story.
Its presence is tied to the adventures of Galthen and the mysteries surrounding the Iks. Reaching the chamber is itself part of that journey, requiring adventurers to make their way through the ancient city and its museum before the final confrontation.
Perhaps that explains why today’s destinations feel so different.
The Bulltaur Lair is a place where hunters go looking for their prey.
Iksupan is a place where adventurers go looking for answers.
Both may leave them wishing they had brought a larger party.
Two Roads, Two Kinds of Danger
On one road, the Bulltaurs are waiting with their hammers.
On another, beneath a forgotten city, the Mitmah Vanguard waits among the ruins of a much older conflict.
One demands persistence.
The other demands caution.
And today, both have given Tibia’s adventurers another reason to leave the safety of the cities.
The Bulltaur Lair is likely to see plenty of visitors. Deep below Iksupan, however, the Mitmah Vanguard will be waiting for them.
